Private Birding Experience

4hours | Small Group | Exclusive Access

Guided by a passionate local birding enthusiast, this intimate experience draws on years of observing the rhythms of Western Queensland – from wet-season waterbirds to hardy dry-country residents.

Departing at 7:30am from Lara Wetlands campground, guests venture into secluded areas of the private property rarely accessed by the public. Travelling in convoy (with limited seats available in the guides vehicle or by your own 4wd), you’ll explore diverse wetland, floodplain and dry-country habitats as the morning light brings the landscape – and its birdlife – to life.

Expect a relaxed pace, thoughtful interpretation, and time to truly observe species behaviour in their natural habitat – not rush from sighting to sighting.

Light refreshments are provided during the morning, enjoyed at a quiet pause as the landscape settles around you.
